Prerequisites

Before you begin tracking attendance, make sure you have:

  • Set up your event at myanswers.com

  • Enabled online registration

  • Students registered for your VBS

Accessing the Attendance System

  1. Log into myanswers.com

  2. Click on the People section

  3. You'll see a summary showing how many students are registered (for example, "8 students")

  4. Click on the student count or select Manage All Students to view the enrolled students page

Understanding the Check-In Interface

The attendance tracking interface adapts based on your event timing:

Before Your Event Starts:

  • The check-in buttons won't appear on the main students page

  • The system recognizes it's not time for your event yet

  • You can still access the full attendance section (covered below)

During Your Event:

  • Check-in buttons automatically appear next to each student's name

  • This happens based on the date and time configured in your VBS settings

  • The system intelligently knows when your event is active

Methods for Taking Attendance

Method 1: Check-In Desk

This works well if you have a designated check-in area where parents drop off their students.

Setup: Position someone at a computer near your entrance

Process:

  • As families arrive, locate their children in the system

  • Click the Check In button next to each student's name

  • For multiple children in one family (like siblings Jimmy and Sally), you can either:

    • Click the Check In button for each child individually, or

    • Select all the children using the checkboxes and click Check In Selected Students to process them simultaneously

This approach streamlines the check-in process and helps you track attendance efficiently as students arrive.
